Judith Ann
Perry (Dillon)
October 9, 1946 – April 22, 2026
Born to Frank and Lucille Dillon (Schraeder) in Chicago, Illinois, Judy later resided in the suburb of West Chicago, where she and ex-husband Colin raised their daughter Michelle. Judy was very much involved in the school district where she was a lunch aide and room mother at Gary elementary school as well as a crossing-guard, known to all the kids as the “lady with the huge fly swatter”. Judy later moved to Batavia down the street from her daughter while working for The Little Traveler in Geneva.
Judy made friends easily and would talk to just about anyone. She loved Bingo, crafts, country music and dancing and in her later years, playing penny slots and scratch off lottery tickets, both of which she was very lucky at. She could have been a professional bargain shopper and always made sure people knew what a deal she got! Judy had a great sense of humor and laugh, and her granddaughter Abigayle was the light of her life. In 2023 she followed her daughter’s family to South Carolina and spent her final days in Greer.
Judy is survived and deeply missed by her daughter Michelle (James) Gedye, her beloved granddaughter Abigayle, younger sister Debra (Pat) McCabe and nephew Michael McCabe as well as many friends and extended family who loved her near and far.
The family will host a private brunch Saturday, July 18th at First Watch in Geneva, IL at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Judy’s life at 1:00 p.m. Reservations are required for the brunch so if you plan to attend, please contact Michelle or Deb before July 1st.
