Kenneth "Justin" Brown, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 42. Born June 19, 1982, in Brooksville, FL, Justin's infectious laughter and thoughtful nature touched the lives of all who knew him.
Justin grew up in a loving family and is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth W. Brown and uncle, A. Jack Smith, Jr. He will be sorely missed by his mother Rhoda S. Mercer and stepfather Thomas Mercer, his stepmom Cindy Brown & his brother Ryan M. Brown and wife Amanda, who blessed him with 3 handsome nephews.
Justin grew up with 3 cousins next door Mindy (Smith) Welch, Stacy (Smith) Bond and Sandy (Smith) Peters and they held a very special place in his heart, and he had many fond memories of their childhood together. His 2 other cousins Stephen Sorrow, and Sarah (Sorrow) Rambaran, Aunt Cheryl Smith & Uncle Steve Sorrow he loved dearly even though he did not see them as much because they lived in South Carolina. He was very close during childhood to his Aunt Debbie Smith and loved it when his Uncle Stephen Smith took him fishing with his Papaw and taught him how to scale the fish he caught. They will all remember Justin's loving spirit and his beautiful smile.
After completing high school in Florida, Justin embarked on a diverse career path in several states (including Fla, Ga, Colorado, Tennessee and S. Carolina) that showcased his versatility and passion. He honed his culinary skills as a sous chef, a role that allowed him to express his creativity and love for cooking. His work history also included positions at various fast-food chains and landscaping companies, where his colleagues appreciated his intelligence, creativity and humor.
Justin's talents extended beyond his professional life. As a musician, he played the saxophone with a passion that was as soulful as it was skillful. His love for poetry reflected his deep appreciation for human experience, often citing the works of philosopher Fredrick Nietzsche as a significant influence. He enjoyed watching football in season and his favorite team was the Fla Seminoles. Those who knew Justin will remember him as a man who could always be counted on to bring joy and laughter into any room.
Described by those who loved him as loving, thoughtful, intelligent and tenacious, Justin's legacy is one of kindness and inspiration. His ability to see the beauty in the world and in people (despite their position in life) was unparalleled, and his creative spirit will be deeply missed.
Justin's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and laughter he shared with family and friends.
As we say goodbye to Justin, we celebrate the life of a man who was not only a beloved family member and friend but also a bright light in the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His journey on earth may have ended, but his spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
Justin's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and joy.
