Kimberly Denise Martin, affectionately known as Kim, passed away on May 30, 2026. Born on October 7, 1961, Kim lived a life marked by a gentle spirit, a sense of adventure, and a passion for the outdoors that enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Kim's career was characterized by dedication and compassion, most notably as a former Emergency Medical Technician with Medshore and various transport companies. Her commitment to helping others was a true reflection of her kind nature. Additionally, she contributed her talents to Velux in Greenwood, South Carolina, where she was a valued employee.
Her love for life extended beyond her work, embracing hobbies that connected her closely with nature and family. Kim thoroughly enjoyed fishing, camping, and a variety of outdoor activities. She treasured her cats, Callie and Biscuit, companions who brought joy and comfort to her home. Among her favorite pastimes was taking cruises aboard Carnival ships, indulging her adventurous spirit and curiosity for new experiences.
She is survived by her siblings, Scott Martin (Amy) and Cindy Martin (Pat); beloved nephews Robbie Martin, Nick Phillips (Kayla), and Michael Martin (Kerstin); great nephews Eli Martin, Jackson Martin, and Riggs Phillips; her great niece, Lakelyn Phillips; and lifelong friend, Lynette Powell.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Skeeter Martin and Linda Martin.
The family is currently at their respective homes. They extend a special thanks to the healthcare teams at Self Regional Infusion, Nurses 1, 2, and 3, Dr. Rahal, Dr. Zimik, and the compassionate staff of VIA Hospice of Laurens, whose care and support were sources of comfort to Kim and her loved ones.
A visitation with family will take place on June 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lake Greenwood Mansfield RV Park - Picnic Pavilion, located at 1002 Pittmans Landing Dr, Cross Hill, South Carolina. This will be followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the same day and at the same location, where friends and family will come together to honor Kim’s life and legacy.
In respect to the family’s wishes, no flower arrangements are requested. Donations in memory of Kimberly Denise Martin may be made to the VIA Hospice of Laurens, South Carolina, supporting the meaningful work that provided such comfort in her final days.
