Lanneau D. Grant, beloved matriarch and cherished friend who brought warmth and joy to all who knew her, passed away on July 3, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 84.

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Lanneau carried the spirit of her coastal beginnings throughout her life. She was a woman of strength and faith who touched the lives of her family, friends, and community in countless meaningful ways.

Family was always at the center of her life, and she treasured time spent with those she loved. She enjoyed puzzles of any kind, attending local theatre productions, and dedicating her time and efforts to her church. She never lost her love for the beaches of South Carolina, where she could relax on the shoreline with a sweet tea and a good book. She also had a generous spirit, finding immense reward in giving, whether that be a home-cooked meal, a day on the town, or a knick-knack that reminded her of those she loved.

Those who knew Lanneau will remember her as a woman who was creative in her thinking, loving in her relationships, and unrelenting in her laughter. She had a way about her that made anyone who met her feel wanted just as they are. Her presence was a blessing to her family, and her example of kindness and grace will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Lanneau was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard E. Grant; parents Harry and Irene Dent; and stepmother, Portia Dent, the memory of all remaining close to her heart throughout her life. She is survived by daughters Beth (Guy) Burney and Kristi (Henrik) Bjoernberg, and son, Zakary Stoudenmire. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Bryson, Jordan, and Rebecca Burney; Winslow and Sylvia Stoudenmire; and Lilly and Adrian Bjoernberg, all of whom brought her great pride and happiness.

Lanneau D. Grant will be remembered with deep affection and enduring gratitude by all who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service will be held at Disciples United Methodist Church on August 2nd at 4 p.m.
