Laura Marie Wright

August 13, 1973 — December 3, 2023

Laura Marie Wright, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, at the age of 50 in Easley, South Carolina. Born on August 13, 1973, in Union, South Carolina, Laura was the cherished daughter of Carolyn Keith Lanier and Ronald Lee Wright. Her life was a testament to the power of unconditional love and the joy of family.

Laura's journey began as the heart of a close-knit family, and she carried that foundation of love throughout her life. She was a devoted mother to her children, Aleigha D. Webber, Casey J. Webber, Hallie M. Smith, and Steppen R. Smith, all of Easley, SC. Laura's spirit will live on through her beloved grandchildren, Trinity Carter, Selah Ferguson, Scarlett Powell, and Delylah Smith, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her caring siblings, David W. (Donna) Anthony, Robert L. (Angela) Anthony, and David L. (Stephanie) Lanier, all of whom reside in Easley, SC. Laura was a pillar of strength and joy for her family, including her many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, William Tanner Keith and Myrtle Turner Keith, as well as Edgar "Bud" Wright and Lois Haney Wright. Laura's life was also enriched by her special friend Marcellous Alexander, lovingly known as “Sonny”, who shared in her journey with warmth and companionship.

Laura's passion for life was evident in everything she did. She was a loving and sometimes overbearing mother, but her children were her everything. She lived for her grandchildren, and her dedication to her family was unwavering. Laura's work history and association involvement were always centered around her role as a mother, which she considered her most important job.

Her interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. Laura's world revolved around her family and grandchildren, and she found immense joy in caring for them. She had a love for music that was only matched by her love for laughter, often being the family prankster. Laura had a special talent for finding the perfect gifts for birthdays and Christmas, and she took great pleasure in the happiness of others.

Laura's love extended beyond her family to her pets and any animal in need of a home. Her compassionate nature was a true reflection of her character. Those who knew Laura would describe her as loving, selfless, and passionate. She had a heart that knew no bounds and a spirit that was as generous as it was kind.

As we bid farewell to Laura Marie Wright, we celebrate a life that was filled with laughter, love, and the purest form of devotion to family. Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the enduring power of a mother's love. Laura's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared by those who loved her and in the lives of her children and grandchildren, who will continue to honor her in their hearts and actions.

Laura's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of joy, care, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. She has left an empty spot in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will be treasured forever.

In the quiet moments, we will feel Laura's presence in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the warmth of a shared family meal, and in the tender memories that will never fade. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us of the preciousness of each moment and the enduring strength of love.
