Leah Marie Hailey (Feehrer)

It is with heavy hearts, that we share the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother Leah Marie Hailey (Feehrer) on May 12, 2025.

Leah was born on 12/13/1947 in Racine, Wisconsin. Apart from 3 years she spent living in Germany, she lived most of her adult life in Rome, New York. Her husband retired from the Air Force in 1992 finally relocating them to their home in Piedmont, South Carolina.

Leah Marie Hailey leaves behind her devoted husband, Thomas Charles Hailey whom she was married to for 48 years. She was mother to four children; daughter Debra Lee Freire, and sons Troy Scott Boss, (Lisa), Eric Michael Boss (deceased July 31, 2013) and Chad Thomas Hailey.

Leah is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Gabriana Marie Pollock (Jack), Brandon Christopher Boss (Erin), Brooke Alexandria Boss, Emily Maureen Hailey, Caroline Marie Hailey and one great grandchild due this November. Leah was very excited to become a great grandmother.

Leah had a flamboyant personality. She was quick to find the humor in life. She would always let you know what she was thinking and how she thought things should be. Once you understood her personality, you would love her!

Leah was a dedicated homemaker who made a beautiful home wherever she lived. She had an eye for the details.

Leah also had a definite “green thumb”. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds and had a large ever-growing collection of indoor plants. She was known by friends and family to easily nurse any struggling plant back to thriving! In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Leah loved spending time with her son Chad’s twin girls, Caroline and Emily who also reside in Piedmont, SC.

Leah spent her final moments peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Leah will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A family viewing to lay Leah to rest will be held at Crematory Society of SC- Westville Funerals on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 3-4 pm.
