Linda Carole Garner, known affectionately as Linda to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the age of 81 in Spartanburg, SC. Born on August 8, 1944, in Foley, AL, Linda was a beacon of intelligence, faith, and generosity throughout her life.

Linda's early years were spent under the loving guidance of her parents, Kathleen and Earle Breeden, both of whom predeceased her. She grew up in a home filled with love and learning, which laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for education. Linda pursued her academic interests with vigor, culminating in a Master's Degree from the Citadel, an accomplishment that spoke to her dedication and intellect.

For many years, Linda shared her love of knowledge as a teacher, touching the lives of countless students with her wisdom and patience. Her passion for history and culture later led her to become a tour guide in Savannah, GA where she delighted visitors with tales of the past, bringing history to life with her vivid storytelling.

Linda's interests extended beyond her professional life. She was an avid reader, often found with a book in hand, lost in the pages of a gripping novel or a historical account. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Linda's deep faith was an integral part of her life, and she was very involved with her church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where she served and worshipped with a devoted heart.

An avid boater, Linda found peace and joy on the water, navigating with the same grace and confidence that she approached all aspects of her life. Her love for the open water was a source of many cherished memories for her and her family.

Linda's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her son John Theodore Garner and his wife Anne, her grandchildren Mason Elizabeth Garner, Katherine Brookes Garner, Joshua Garner, and Jonathon Garner. She was predeceased by her son, John Thaddeus Garner, whose memory remained a guiding light in her life.

Those who knew Linda will remember her as a woman of great intelligence, whose faith-filled life was a testament to her generous spirit. She was a pillar in her community, a friend to many, and a loving mother and grandmother. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her influence will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched.

Linda Carole Garner's life was one of purpose and passion, and she will be missed dearly. Her story is one of unwavering faith, boundless generosity, and a commitment to enriching the lives of others.
