Loretta Russell, known for her creativity, generosity, and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026 at her home with family by her side at the age of 65.
Loretta brought both skill and passion to her work. Her creativity shone through not only professionally but also in the many ways she expressed herself through her hobbies and talents. She had a special love for crocheting, reading, and crafts, often creating handmade treasures that brought joy and comfort to family and friends.
Above all else, Loretta was deeply devoted to her family. She embodied love, generosity, and faith in every aspect of her life, always offering warmth, encouragement, and compassion to those around her. Her gentle spirit and caring heart will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Nathan Russell and Andrea Maybin and husband Jeff, her brother Joe Capps and wife Martha, sister Connie Phillips and husband Joey. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Victoria Russell, Nathan Russell Jr., Nickolas Maybin, and Mason Maybin who brought immense pride and happiness to her life. As well she is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and close friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Russell, and her parents Carroll and Martha Owens Capps, whose memory she carried closely in her heart.
As family and friends reflect on Loretta’s life, they remember a woman whose faith never wavered, whose hands created beauty, and whose heart overflowed with love and generosity. Her presence enriched the lives of many, and her legacy of kindness and grace will continue to live on through those who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held May 28th at 6pm at Mountain Valley Baptist Church located at 65 Mountain Valley Cemetery Rd Zirconia NC 28790. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Loretta's beautiful life and the love she shared so freely to others.
Flowers are welcome and may be sent to the family or service location in honor of Loretta’s memory. The family deeply covets the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time.
