Louie A. Sammons

Louie A. Sammons, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the age of 83 in his hometown of Greenville, SC. Born on April 23, 1942, in the same close-knit community, Louie's life was a testament to his loving, kind, and intelligent nature.

Louie's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife, Bobbie Sammons, who stood by his side in loving partnership. Together, they raised two sons, Leon Sammons, who is married to Karen, and John Sammons. Louie's legacy continued to blossom with the joy of four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and affection. He was a pillar of strength and love for his two sisters and two brothers, who survive him, and he was predeceased by his devoted parents.

For 30 years, Louie dedicated his professional life to Judson Mill, where he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie with his colleagues. Following his tenure at the mill, he embarked on a new venture, Louie and John Sammons Yard Maintenance, where he worked for 10 years alongside his son, John. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his involvement with the Sam Poe Masonic Lodge, where he served as a Tyler, further exemplifying his commitment to community and brotherhood.

Louie's interests and hobbies were a reflection of his multifaceted personality. A member of the Sam Poe Masonic Lodge, he found fellowship and purpose within its walls. His love for riding his motorcycle was more than a pastime; it was a symbol of his adventurous spirit and love for the open road. Louie also possessed a creative side, which he expressed through wood crafting, creating pieces that were not only beautiful but also imbued with his warmth and care.

Above all, Louie's greatest joy was found in the time he spent with his grand and great-grandchildren. Each moment was cherished, each memory imprinted with his love and attention. He was a constant presence in their lives, guiding them with his wisdom and enveloping them in his unconditional love.
