Marguerite Ellen Umphers, 75, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away May 13, 2026. Born February 7, 1951, in Hammond, IN, she was a devoted caregiver and faithful member of Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brothers, David (Nancy) Tunis and Richard (Danielle) Tunis; her daughters, Lisa Joy Buffington Brown (Tyler), Lori Theresa Buffington, and Leah Alice Umphers Murphy; stepdaughters Angela Rueger (Patrick), Amy L’Heureux (Joseph), and Anita Smart (Richard); seven grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billie Jack Umphers; and son, David Jonathan Umphers.

Interment of ashes will be June 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Courthouse VA, preceded by a 10:30 a.m. funeral procession.

A memorial service will be held June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC.
