Marion Regina Friske Kimball, 94, of Simpsonville, SC and formerly of Oneida NY, passed away on September 3, 2025, at her home.
She was born on January 19, 1931, in Brightwaters, NY, the daughter of Herman and Pauline (Stelter) Friske. Marion graduated from Oneida High School in 1949. She married Richard J. Kimball, on April 6, 1952, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He passed away on February 22, 2011.
Throughout her life, Marion was actively involved in several groups and organizations: The Oneida High School Booster Club, The Oneida Bowling League, North Broad Street School PTA, and attended worship at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She worked at Loblaws Grocery Store, The Oneida Daily Dispatch and Price Chopper. Marion avidly enjoyed line dancing, music, ta-chi, crocheting, cross-stitching, cooking and baking.
After moving to Piedmont, SC in 1995, Marion joined the congregation of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, the Greenville Senior Action Center, The Over 50 Bowling League of Greenville, The Simpsonville Senior Center, and recently Messiah Lutheran Church in Mauldin, SC.
She is survived by three daughters; Denise Kimball and Sandy (Joe) Niles both of Oneida, NY, and Julie (Andy) Geremski of Fairfax, VT, three sons; Scott and Richard Jr. (Kim) of Greer, SC, and Joel of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Jaime (C.J.) Alvarez of East Syracuse, NY, Megan (Matt) Shene of Oneida, NY, Nick (Ashley) Niles of San Antonio, TX, Josh (Lauren) Kimball and Danny (Mae) Kimball of Greer, SC., and Alissa and Alaina Geremski of Fairfax, VT; eight great-grandchildren, Cooper Alvarez, Caroline Alvarez, Cayden Shene, Evey Shene, Finley Shene, Brady Niles, Kennadi Niles and Samara Kimball; one sister Eunice “Buzzy” Carney of Leland, NC; three sisters-in-law; Margaret Friske, Anna Vincelli and Gail Salerno; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her six brothers: Herman Jr., Eugene, Marshall, Gerald, Dale, and Ronald.
A graveside service will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery in Oneida, NY, at a later date. The arrangements will be overseen by Cremation Society of SC- Westville Funerals, in Greenville, SC.
