Marjorie Ann Morrison, known as Margie, passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, humor, and love that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Born on October 24, 1935, Margie lived a long and meaningful life centered on family, faith, and the simple joys that made each day special. She was the daughter of the late Ethel Mae Moore and Everette Lee Moore. Those who knew her will remember her as a woman of quiet strength and steady grace, someone who met life with a warm heart and a ready smile.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Donald Morrison, and by her daughter, Maranda Lynn Derby. She also mourned the loss of her grandson, James Everette Cannon, and her great granddaughter, Taylor Ann Cromer.

She is survived by her children, Rip George and his wife JoAnn, Melinda Coker and her husband Danny, and Doug Turner and his wife Anita. She also leaves behind grandchildren raised in her home, Tabitha Mayville, Shane Weave, and Daniel Derby, as well as great grandchildren raised in her home, Kaylin Rooney and Michael Rooney. Her surviving grandchildren include Jamie Cromer, Kelly Malley, Dawn Englert, and Matt Turner. In addition, she is survived by 13 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Margie was a woman who treasured time with her family above all else. She found happiness in the everyday moments that others might overlook, whether she was gathered around the table with loved ones, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the comfort of being together. Her family knew her as wise, funny, and loving, and those qualities shone through in the way she cared for others and in the laughter she brought into a room.

She also enjoyed bird watching, traveling to the mountains, and spending time in church, where she found peace, fellowship, and friendship. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she valued the companionship of those who shared in worship and conversation with her. Margie also had a fondness for sweet treats, and she never turned down the simple pleasures that made life a little brighter.
