Mary Louise "Snookie" Clark, a spirited adventurer and a beacon of selflessness, left this world on December 29, 2025, at the age of 84, in Greenville, South Carolina, where she was born on October 3, 1941. A remarkable woman, Mary wore many hats throughout her life, embracing her roles as a dedicated cosmetologist and pharmacy technician with grace and enthusiasm. She touched the lives of countless individuals, always ready with a warm smile and an inspiring word.
Her charm was equaled only by her myriad of hobbies and interests. An amazing cook whose culinary creations tantalized the taste buds of family and friends alike, Mary found joy in nurturing those around her. She reveled in the beauty of her garden, where vibrant flowers blossomed as beautifully as the love that radiated from her heart. An avid reader, she would frequently lose herself in the pages of books, her imagination soaring to new heights. Shopping was not just a pastime for Mary; it was a social outlet that brought exuberance into her life. When the sun beckoned, she delighted in camping adventures, where laughter with loved ones echoed amidst nature's serenity. Her artistic flair shone through in her painting, capturing the world through her unique lens. Mary loved to roller skate in her earlier years and spent many a day at the skating rink.
Mary's love for family was one of her defining traits. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, embracing each moment filled with laughter as they played cards. Her great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, filling her days with the promise of new adventures and the warmth of youthful exuberance.
She is survived by her son, Greg Clark (Abby), and her daughter, Mary "Cathy" Pohar (Rick), sister Virginia "Prissy" Park, grandchildren, Jessica Pohar (Mark Cipully)), Jamie Clark (Liz), and Mitchell Pohar (Alisha). The legacy of her love extends further in the lives of her great-grandchildren: Dominick Cipully, Gianna Cipully, Jovani Cipully, Zachary Culp, Ryan Rodgers, and James Lyles, each carrying a piece of her spirit within them.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William Lloyd Goodlett and Martha Alma Alexander, sisters Kathleen Juanita Dilleshaw, Iris Janette Guthrie, brothers William Lloyd Goodlett, Jr., William Perry Goodlett and a granddaughter Tabitha Lynn Clark,. Mary also journeyed through life with her first husband, Roy C. Clark, now a gentle memory of love that has been honored in her heart.
In her absence, Mary Louise Clark leaves behind a tapestry woven with the threads of adventure, inspiration, and unconditional love. Her spirit and devotion to family will forever resonate in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. As they carry forward her legacy, they will remember her not only for her myriad of talents but also for the extraordinarily generous heart that beat within her.
Mary is survived by her partner Robert Laughter, with whom she had shared 30 wonderful years with. A special thank you to Maxwell Lynn Laughter and Jacqueline "Dee" Dearman.
