Mary Lane, born on August 14, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Campobello, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and wisdom that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Mary lived a life marked by devotion to her family and by the quiet strength that so often defined her. She carried herself with grace and warmth, and she had a remarkable way of making others feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her presence brought comfort and steadiness, and her kindness was felt in both the ordinary moments of daily life and the special occasions that brought loved ones together.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Edna and Paul Pizzitola. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, the late Eddie Pizzitola and the late Vito “Willie” Pizzitola, as well as her sister, the late Fran McConnell. Mary was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Thomas E. Lane, whose memory remained close to her heart throughout her life. The bonds of family were deeply important to her, and she treasured the many connections that shaped her journey.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Lane, her son, Thomas Lane, as well as her daughter-in-law, Tammy Lane, whom she loved as a daughter. She was a proud Grandmother to Thomas “Jadon” Lane and Joshua Kirkland (Abbey). She also delighted in her great-grandchildren, Keagen and Emery Kirkland, who brought joy and light to her later years. Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and she found happiness in their accomplishments, their laughter, and the time they shared.

Mary had many interests that reflected her gentle spirit and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed gardening, where she found peace and satisfaction in nurturing beauty and growth. She also loved knitting, a pastime that reflected her patience and care. Racketball was another interest that brought energy and enjoyment to her life. At home, she shared a special bond with her cat, Daphnie, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. She also held a special affection for her “Partner in Crime Jadon,” a title that spoke to the playful and loving connection she cherished with her Grandson.

Those who knew Mary will remember her as a loving woman whose generosity extended freely to others. She offered wisdom not only through her words, but through the example she set each day. Her life was a reflection of compassion, resilience, and devotion, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured for generations. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the enduring impact of her presence in the lives of her family and friends.

Mary’s life was a testament to the enduring power of family, faith, and kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family and friends will carry forward the lessons she taught through her example, and they will remember her with gratitude, affection, and lasting love.
