Mary Elizabeth Oberle (Miles), 78, of Easley, South Carolina, formerly of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026.

Mary was known for her strength, kindness, deep faith, and love for her family, friends, and beloved animals. She had a caring heart, a strong spirit, and touched the lives of many throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Waring Miles, Jr. and Winifred Edythe Bischoff Miles; her former husband, Baird Bowman; her brothers, Thomas Braly Miles and John Waring Miles, III; and her sister, Susan Braly Miles.

She is survived by her son, Miles Bowman, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of South Carolina. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date in Summerville, South Carolina.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice of the Foothills at Greenville Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and dignity shown during her final days.
