Michael Joseph Barber, 39, passed away on September 22, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Husband of Leslie Barber and devoted father of Harpeth Barber of Taylors, SC; beloved son of Gerald and Virginia Barber, Brentwood, TN; older brother of Daniel (Grace) Barber, Franklin, TN; and Grandson to Shirley Barber, Bartlett, IL.

He was a talented engineer with a mind that seemed to work differently than most. He had an extraordinary ability to look at something – whether broken, unfinished, complicated, or completely new – and simply figure out how to make it work. He could create, assemble, modify, build, and repair almost anything.

His talents went beyond engineering. He possessed a natural curiosity of how things worked which fueled his love of the many hobbies he enjoyed over the years. He was a fisherman, photographer, avid cyclist, biker, and outdoor adventurer who also held the title of Eagle Scout.

But the role that was most significant to him was that of a proud stay-at-home to his beloved daughter, and being there for her was the role he cherished most. He poured his heart into being a loving, devoted, and present dad, creating memories and sharing in the everyday moments that meant so much.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
