Michael Dean Capps

Michael Dean Capps, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 9, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 74. Born on July 9, 1951, in Hendersonville, NC, Michael was a man of deep faith and boundless love, whose presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him.

Michael's life was a testament to the values of family and hard work. For many years, he dedicated himself to his career as a tanker truck driver for Wright Oil, delivering gas with a steadfast commitment to safety and reliability. His colleagues knew him as a man who could always be counted on, both on the road and off. 

At home, Michael was the loving husband to his surviving wife, Tomeka Capps, with whom he shared a life full of laughter. He was predeceased by his parents, Willie Mae "Dollie" and Merritt "Lee" Capps, and his beloved son, Cody Capps. Michael's legacy lives on through his daughter, Vicki Lee Capps, his brother, Ronald Capps, his grandson, Seth Murray, and his great-grandson, Samuel Murray. 

Michael's  interests outside of work were a reflection of his curious and adventurous spirit. He found great pleasure in metal detecting, a hobby that allowed him to explore and discover, turning ordinary days into treasure hunts. Above all, Michael cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grand and great-grandson, whose growth and achievements were a constant source of pride and happiness.

Those who knew Michael would describe him as loving, thoughtful, and faith-filled. His unwavering faith guided him through life's challenges and was a source of inspiration to those around him. His memory will be held dear in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. 

A celebration of life to honor Michael Dean Capps will be scheduled at a later date.
