Mike was the beloved husband of Annette Jenks, who stood by his side in love and partnership. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert "Doyle" Tate, Doris "Jo" Tate, Clifford Felts, and Jo Felts, who instilled the values of family and hard work. He was a loving father to his daughter, Kelli (Brian) Mills, and son Kevin (Ann) Felts, and a doting grandfather to Zachary, Journey Felts, Harper Mills, and Asa Jenks Johnson. Mike's legacy is also carried on by his brother, Robert (Robbie) Tate, and sister, Carol Umbarger. His brothers, Sam Felts and David Tate, preceded him in death. His furry companion, Lil Bit, was a constant source of joy and companionship.
A staunch Republican, Mike was deeply engaged in his political beliefs and enjoyed lively discussions on the subject. He was an ardent supporter of Tennessee football, and his enthusiasm for the game was infectious. Golf was another of Mike's passions, and he spent many happy hours on the green, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golfers. Mike also loved to cook for his friends and family.
