Milton B. "Mac" McCoy, 97, died June 11, 2025, after a brief illness. He was the son of Orion and Lurline McCoy. Born in Charlotte, N.C., September 1, 1927, at an early age Mac and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he eventually met and married the love of his life, Joan Stanford. Mac and Joan were married for 70 years, until her death November 17, 2020.
A World War II and Korean War veteran, Mac served in Germany with the European Theater of Operations. After returning to Atlanta from Germany, Mac pursued a BS Degree in Engineering from Georgia Tech. Upon graduation in 1954, he began his career in Engineering, sales and management. He was employed with General Electric, International Paper, and was a Division Manager of Sales with Daniel International. He retired from Beloit Corporation, Paper Machine Division. With the desire to remain active, Mac returned to the workplace in the Marketing Department of TMS South, Taylors, SC, where he remained well into his eighties.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan, his brother, Harold H. McCoy, and his son, Dan McCoy. He is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda (Terry) Bolding, Brenda McCoy, grandchildren, Matt McCoy, Cody McCoy, and Christopher (Maegan) Bolding, and three great-grandchildren, Coleman, Jensen, and Ellie.
Graveside services for Mac and Joan will be Friday, July 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., Graceland East Cemetery, Simpsonville, SC.
Memorials may be made to Greenville County Animal Care, Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC, or to a charity of one's choice.
