Minnie B. Kettman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, in Laurens, South Carolina. She was born on April 27, 1936, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and lived a life marked by resilience, kindness, and a deep affection for the natural world.

Minnie spent many years as a secretary at General Motors, where her dependability and strong work ethic were deeply valued. Yet her truest joys were found at home, caring for birds, tending to her two llamas and peacock, and collecting Westmoreland milk glass. Her gentle soul drew all living things toward her and she cared for them with quiet devotion.

Minnie is survived by her granddaughter, Brittany (Daniel) Parsons, her daughter, Dawn, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Edward Prince and Gary Prince, as well as her husband, Albert Kettman, who passed away on December 5, 2021, exactly four years to the day before she joined him. The symmetry of their passing feels like a final testament to the bond they shared.

Minnie leaves behind a legacy grounded in simplicity, kindness, and steady love. She moved through life with a warmth that made people feel understood and a gentle strength that never needed to announce itself. Her presence made ordinary days feel softer, calmer, and more meaningful.

There won’t be any services, but please feel free to honor Minnie in whatever way feels meaningful to you. In leu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the national wildlife federation or the Dementia Society of America.
