Molly McClain Fleming

Molly McClain Fleming, born on June 25, 1953, in Honea Path Abbeville County, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2024, in the same loving county she called home. She was a beloved daughter of Betty Shirley and Furman McClain (deceased), with Donnie Ray McClain as her dear brother.

Molly's compassionate spirit and kind heart were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Having graduated from Dixie High School, she dedicated an impressive 25 years of her life to working at Torrington in Honea Path. Her colleagues and friends remember her as someone who always thought of others before herself, showing empathy and kindness in every interaction. Molly's love for laughter and her funny personality brought joy to those around her.

A proud mother to Paula Gambrell and Joey Clamp, Molly found immense joy in watching her family grow. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Aaron Clamp, Kerri Flowers, Kaelynn Clamp, Jesse Clamp, Dustin Payton, Avery Gambrell, Ethan Gambrell, as well as being a great-grandmother to Raelynn Clamp, Emberley Clamp, and Elle Flowers.

In addition to her immediate family, Molly is survived by her twin sister Polly Cooley and brother-in-law Randy Cooley. She was also a dear sister-in-law to Patricia McClain.

Molly found solace and joy in gardening – a hobby that allowed her to nurture life and find peace in nature. Her memories will forever be treasured by all those whose lives she touched with her immense love and generosity.

Services to honor Molly's life will take place at New Hope Baptist Church in Due West on April 27, 2024. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the same day. Pastor Richard Ashley will be the officiant. 

Molly's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family whom she adored dearly. Her legacy of empathy and love will continue to live on through the hearts of those she leaves behind.
