Nancy Yvonne Stone, 75, of Woodruff, South Carolina, daughter of the late Poesy and Ola Morgan, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in Woodruff, Nancy spent her life loving, caring for, and sacrificing for those she held closest to her heart.

Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a mother and grandmother figure to many. Her heart and home were always open. She was someone you could count on to love you, encourage you, fuss at you, make you laugh, or simply be there when you needed her most.

Left to cherish her memory is her longtime partner of more than 30 years, Raymond Bright; her children, Cyndi Moss and Steve Vaughn (Casie); her beloved niece, Kathy Cox; her grandchildren, Brittany (Emily), Brent (Kensley), Steph (Corinthian), Dolly (Michael), Alexis (Jessica), Taylor, and Morgan; her stepchildren, Dale (Margaret) and Cristen; and her step-grandchildren, Tyler, Lizzie, Ciera, and James Michael; and her 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Ted Junior, Carroll, Benny Morgan, and sisters Ella, Dorothy, Dolly, and Audrey.

Nancy lived her life putting her family first. She fought her illness with incredible strength and determination, earning the title of Superwoman from those who loved her. She was strong, selfless, and always put others before herself.

Nancy had a special love for the color pink and hummingbirds. Whenever a hummingbird appears, her loved ones will remember the joy she found in those simple moments and feel as though she is close by.

Her family and the many people who called her family will forever carry a piece of Nancy in their hearts. Though her absence will be deeply felt, they find comfort knowing she is no longer suffering and is finally at peace.

One of Nancy’s favorite Bible verses was:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Nancy was our mother, our nanny, our safe place, and our Superwoman. She will be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

And whenever a hummingbird appears, we will remember that she is still finding little ways to remind us that she is near.
