Solorzano
March 20, 1928 – March 24, 2026
On March 24, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones, Nicanor Solorzano Quispe, at the age of 98, passed into the presence of the Lord and was reunited with his beloved wife, Gloria Navarro de Solorzano, whom he deeply missed.
Papa-Nico, or Papaito as his loved ones called him, was born on March 20, 1928, in the town of Tapo, Tarma, Junín, Peru. In his younger years, he worked at the La Oroya smelter. He later moved to Lima, where he worked independently.
Papa-Nico emigrated to the United States in the 1990s, where he worked in the housekeeping department (EVS) at Bally’s Casino. He retired from there, leaving behind many good friends. Papa-Nico loved to travel and explore new places around the world. He also led by example, always helping those in need and striving to keep his family as united as possible.
Papa-Nico now rests in peace alongside his beloved wife Gloria; his eldest son, Pablo (survived by his wife, Maria); and his grandmothers, Teresa Navarro and Genara Aliaga, whom he always missed and spoke of often. He is survived by his eight beloved children: Hermelinda (Adolfo), David (Ninfa), Marcela, Carlos (Sandy), Nicanor (Julia), Hubert (Lorena), Raul (Mary), and Christian (Tanya), as well as 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Papa-Nico. We will remember you forever and remain united.
El día 24 de Marzo del año 2026, acompañado de sus seres queridos, Nicanor Solorzano Quispe, a sus 98 años, paso a la presencia del Señor y al encuentro de su extrañada esposa, Gloria Navarro de Solorzano.
Papa-Nico, o Papaito, como lo llamaban sus seres queridos, nacio el 20 de Marzo de 1928 en el pueblo de Tapo, Tarma-Junin, Peru. Papa-Nico en sus años jovenes trabajo en la fundición de La Oroya. Luego se mudo para Lima, a donde fue un trabajor independiente.
Papa-Nico emigro a los Estados Unidos en los años 90’s, en donde laboro en el “Bally’s Casino” en el departamento de limpieza (EVS), a donde se jubilo y dejo muy buenos amigos.
Papa-Nico fue un amante de viajar y conocer lugares nuevos a través de todo el mundo. También siempre daba el ejemplo de ayudar al necesitado y mantener la familia lo mas unida posible.
Papa-Nico ahora descansa en paz junto a su amada esposa Gloria, a su hijo mayor Pablo (a quien le sobrevive su esposa Maria), y a sus abuelitas Teresa Navarro y Genara Aliaga, a los que siempre extrañaba y mencionaba. Papa-Nico deja a sus 8 amados hijos: Hermelinda (Adolfo), David (Ninfa), Marcela, Carlos (Sandy), Nicanor (Julia), Hubert (Lorena), Raul (Mary), Christian (Tanya). También a 21 nietos y 22 bisnietos.
Descansa en Paz, Papa-Nico. Te recordaremos por siempre y seguiremos unidos!
