Patricia “Gayle” Golden, beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted servant of the Lord, passed peacefully on March 31, 2026. Born in Atlanta, Gayle carried her warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Golden, whom she loved dearly.

Gayle was the loving and deeply involved mother of four children: Jeff, Rebecca, Angie and her husband Mike, and Brian and his wife Jackie. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren—Alison, Alicia, JJ, Laney, Ellie, Gabe, Charlie, Raquel, Kaleb, Aubri, Autym, Jakob, and Atlie—as well as her precious great-grandbabies who brought her so much joy.

Affectionately known as “Memaw,” Gayle was the heart of her family—an amazing, active, and ever-present source of love, laughter, and wisdom. She delighted in caring for her loved ones—and anyone who wandered into her circle in need. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and her spunky personality made sure there was never a dull moment.

At 40 years old, Gayle made the courageous decision to return to school and pursue her calling to become a nurse—a decision that would bless countless lives. Her career as a traveling hospice nurse was no ordinary path. With her trademark loving and faith-filled spirit, she traveled far and wide, bringing comfort and peace to those in their most vulnerable moments. She was the kind of nurse who didn’t just treat symptoms—she nurtured souls, offering compassion, a listening ear, and a presence that brought light even in the darkest times.

Gayle was unwavering in her faith and deeply devoted to the Lord. She served as a ministry leader and lived her life as a reflection of His love—joyful, caring, and relentless in lifting others up. She was mischievous and silly, always laughing, dancing, and worshipping. She found joy in cooking, gathering people together, and making everyone feel welcome and loved.

A teacher at heart, Gayle never missed an opportunity to share her love for Jesus and encourage those around her. Her outgoing spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Gayle lived a life full of purpose, joy, and unwavering faith. She faced every season with strength and grace, anchored in the truth of scripture:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to shine through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
