Patricia Ann Redding, age 70, of Piedmont, South Carolina, passed away on August 13, 2026. She was born on March 10, 1956, in Greenville, South Carolina, and lived a life marked by love, kindness, and friendship.

Patricia was the beloved wife of Larry Redding, Sr., with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family rooted in devotion, strength, and care. She was a loving mother to her four sons, Tyler and Tara of Greenville, Travis and Laura of Easley, Demetrius and Tasha of Greenville, and Xavier and Kasey of Georgia. She also carried in her heart the memory of her deceased son, Larry “Argie” Redding, Jr., whom she loved deeply. Patricia was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren who were especially dear to her, including Addie, Lucas, TJ, Aiden, Kayen, Zuri, Jhene, Zora, Zion, Serenity, Austin, Zach, and Alex. Her love extended to JoAnne and Steve Anders of Easley, and she treasured the special bond she shared with her niece Melanie Trotter and Melanie’s children, Miley and Allen.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Betheen Broome, and by her siblings Morris Broome, Ray Broome, Kenneth Broome, Larry Broome, Margaret Jones, and Elizabeth Redding. She was also deeply connected to the memory of those family members who went before her, and she carried their love with her throughout her life. Her family was the center of her world, and she gave them unwavering support, encouragement, and affection.

Patricia worked as an electrician helper with Broome Contractors for five years and also worked with Yeargins Construction during her younger years. She was known for her strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever she was needed. Her life reflected determination, humility, and a steady commitment to doing her best in every season.

One of Patricia’s greatest callings in life was her role as a foster parent. For 25 years, she opened her heart and home to children in need and lovingly cared for 31 foster children. She cherished each one and gave them the warmth, guidance, and stability they needed. Her compassion touched many lives, and the love she shared with those children will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Patricia also held a special place in her heart for her neighbors, including Dustin and Hunter, Jeff and Laura, and Dale and Karen. She valued the friendships she formed over the years and was blessed by the kindness and companionship of those around her. She also shared meaningful friendships with Brandy, Cynthia, and Sandy, who were dear to her. Patricia’s life was enriched by the many people who knew her and loved her, and she returned that love freely and sincerely.

Those who knew Patricia will remember her as loving, kind, and friendly. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a way of making others feel welcome and cared for. Her presence brought comfort and joy to her family and friends, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
