Patsy C. Rowland

Patsy C. Rowland, a cherished soul known for her loving kindness and courageous spirit, was called to her eternal home on December 13, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on October 17, 1940, in Piedmont, South Carolina, Patsy was a beacon of light to all who knew her, embodying the love and grace of her Christian faith throughout her life.

Patsy's journey began as the beloved daughter of Lizzy and William Thomas Cox. She grew up alongside her brother, Robert Mark Cox, in the warmth of a close-knit family. Her path led her to the love of her life, James (Jake) Rowland, with whom she built a life filled with joy and devotion until his passing. Together, they were blessed with a daughter, Lori (Tom) Rowland-Hall, who would continue the legacy of love they instilled. Patsy's joy was multiplied with the birth of her granddaughter, Piper Myers, who became the apple of her eye.

For over two decades, Patsy served with dedication at Liberty Life Insurance Company, where her work ethic and compassionate nature left a lasting impact on her colleagues and clients alike. Her commitment to her profession was paralleled only by her involvement in her church, where she was a steadfast member, finding solace and strength in her faith and the fellowship of her community.

Patsy's life was a tapestry of simple pleasures and deep commitments. She found joy in the pages of a good book, the challenge of a crossword puzzle, and the laughter shared over lunch with friends. Her love for cats was well-known, as she saw in them the beauty of God's creation and the comfort of companionship.

Those who knew Patsy will remember her as a woman of unwavering faith and boundless love. As we bid farewell to Patsy C. Rowland, we do so with the assurance that she is now at peace in the loving arms of her Savior. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Rowland; her brother, Robert Mark Cox; and her parents, Lizzy and William Thomas Cox. Her spirit is carried on by her daughter, Lori Rowland-Hall; her granddaughter, Piper Myers; and the countless lives she touched.

Patsy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and faith. As we reflect on her journey, we are reminded of the scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy lord" (Matthew 25:21).
