Pattie Diane Fortner

Pattie Diane Fortner May 8, 1965 – September 13, 2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pattie Diane Fortner, 61, of Greenville, South Carolina, who gained her heavenly wings on September 13, 2026. “She shall mount up with wings as eagles.” Isaiah 40:31 Born on May 8, 1965, Pattie was a proud Greenville native and attended Parker High School. She was a woman who loved deeply, fought fiercely, and gave her whole heart to the people she loved. Anyone blessed enough to know Pattie knew that she had a heart of gold and a spirit that could never be easily broken. Pattie was the kind of woman who loved hard and fought hard. She was strong, passionate, loving, and fiercely devoted to her family. Her love was felt in the little things, the big things, the laughter, the memories, and even in the moments when she simply sat beside the people she loved. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Tommy Fortner, and a loving mother, Nannie, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Joshua and Sharon Limbaugh, daughter Marie Womack and her grandchildren and their spouses: LaShay and Michael Bundy, Nikki Limbaugh and Keon, Savanna Limbaugh and Dylan, Kallie Smith and Dylan, and Tommie Fortner and Dustin, along with her precious great-granddaughters, Ivory and Harley Mae Bundy. Also her siblings Olin Hutchins, and Peggy Guin. She has entered the gates to be with her mother and father Sandra and Olin Hutchins, her daughter Rhonda Fortner and sister Rhonda Hutchins. Pattie adored her family and cherished every moment she shared with them. To her husband, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was so much more than a wife, mom and Nannie, she was their safe place, their biggest supporter, and a piece of their hearts that can never be replaced. She was also a die-hard Clemson fan, and her love for the Tigers was something her family will always remember and smile about.  Pattie’s family will forever remember her beautiful smile, her strength, her stubbornness her enormous heart, and most of all, the way she loved. Though her time on Earth has come to an end, the love she poured into her family will continue through every generation that carries her memory. She fought a long, hard fight, and now she can finally rest. No more pain. No more suffering. She has earned her wings. PSALM 91 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that she is no longer hurting. She is at peace, surrounded by the love of her Heavenly Father, and watching over the family she loved so dearly. We love you forever, Nannie Pattie Cake. Your fight is over. Your wings are earned. Until we meet again.  Rest peacefully, beautiful woman. You will never be forgotten.
