Peggy Waters Bishop, widow of James Paul Bishop, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Byrd Burrell Hester and the late Hugh Waters Sr. and was born and lived most of her life in Greer. She was predeceased by her brothers, Hugh Waters Jr. and Ronald R. “Dick” Waters. She was a homemaker and a member of Victor Baptist Church in Greer.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Reinman of the home; her son, Richard Bishop (Marsha), Denton TX; step-grandchilden, Lisa Crane (Andy), Denton; Austin Saylor (Tonya), Dallas, TX; step-great-grandchildren Tabitha Crane, Zoey Crane and Autumn Saylor; special family friend Cindy Briggs, Easley, SC; and the family cat, Earl.
Mrs. Bishop was an avid reader and read 2-3 books a week until her eyesight failed. She was an excellent cook and baker who was famous for her fried chicken and pound cake. She loved all animals, especially cats, and never hesitated to help an animal – or person – in need.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on May 19th, her birthday, in Mountain View Cemetery in Greer.
The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice, the doctors and staff of Prisma Hospital and Hospice, and Cindy Briggs for their care of Mrs. Bishop during this past year.
