Born on November 15, 1931, Phyllis lived a life marked by enduring love for her family, unwavering strength, and a quiet grace that touched all who knew her. Phyllis was the cherished daughter of Harnold Cotton and Margaret Mackey Cotton, who instilled in her the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience.

She grew up alongside her brother, Lester Cotton, and her sisters, Pearl Stavens and Thelma Cotton. Though she experienced the heartache of losing her parents and sisters, Phyllis carried their memories with her throughout her life, honoring their spirit in the way she cared for her own family.

Family was always at the heart of Phyllis’s world. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Kathy O’Neil, Gail Carter, and Patricia Kirkland, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy. Phyllis’s life was further enriched by her grandchildren: Chad Buck, Lacey Fisher, Buster Kirkland, Jennah Beane, Tricia Youngblood, and Jennie Gettys. She also has nine great grandchildren who she loved immensely as well.

The time she spent with them, sharing wisdom and laughter, formed treasured memories that will endure for generations. Phyllis also carried the memory of her beloved son, Ronnie Buck, and her grandson, Christian Goins, who both preceded her in passing. Their loss was profound, and yet Phyllis’s spirit remained steadfast, seeking comfort in faith and the embrace of her close-knit family.

Throughout her 94 years, Phyllis touched countless lives with her warmth, thoughtfulness, and gentle humor. Her legacy is evident not only in her family, but in the many friends and neighbors whose lives she brightened. She took pride in her role as a grandmother, filling her home with love, laughter, and the delicious scents of home-cooked meals. Her ability to bring people together was one of her greatest gifts. Phyllis’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will inspire her family for years to come. At this time, the family celebrates the extraordinary life Phyllis led, giving thanks for the many years they shared with her. Though she will be deeply missed, her life serves as an example of dedication to family and enduring kindness. Her family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all who have supported them during this time of loss. Phyllis Marie Buck will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
