Phyllis Irene (Nunamaker) Cooper, 78, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024, surrounded by family at Prisma Health Greer Memorial Hospital in Greer, South Carolina. She was born on June 27, 1945, to Daisy Irene (Stewart) and Harry Samuel Nunamaker in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania.

Phyllis’s parents, siblings, and beloved husband Keith James Cooper preceded her in death. Her memory will be cherished by her daughters Deborah (Michael) Marrie of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Lori (Charles) Hill, of Greer, SC, along with her grandchildren Shawn Sprockett,  Ashley (Sean) Steed, Taylor Marrie, Michael (Alisha) Marrie, Jonathan (Emily) Hill, and Savannah, Preston, and Carson Hill as well as her great grandchildren Sophia and James Steed and Adalynn Hill.

Before moving to Greer, Phyllis enjoyed her life in Youngstown, Ohio. She spent many years as a pianist and keyboardist at Highway Tabernacle Assembly of God where she was a lifelong member. Phyllis was also a graduate of Youngstown State University and was employed as a registered nurse at Northside Hospital.

A private celebration commemorating the lives of both of their parents will be held by Phyllis’s daughters and their children later this year. The family wishes to thank the hospice staff who cared so lovingly for her in her final days and hours, and requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to local hospice organizations.
