Phyllis Ann Lyerly, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the age of 73, in Greenville, South Carolina.
Born in Union, South Carolina, in 1952 to Mary Wynn and Broudes Hollingsworth, Phyllis spent her life devoted to family and service. She dedicated many years of her career to helping others through her work at the Emerald Center in Greenwood, SC, where she made a lasting impact on those she served and worked alongside.
Phyllis was deeply rooted in love for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Lyerly; her sister, Edna Hollingsworth; and her honorary sister, Kathy Jacobs. She also leaves behind her cherished niece, Kami Turner (Chad); nephews Brent Hopkins (Jessica) and Matthew Hollingsworth (Cameo); and great-niece and nephews Madison Davis, Nelson Hollingsworth, and Jordan Hopkins. Her love and influence will live on in each of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Wynn and Broudes Hollingsworth; her sister, Bonnie Hollingsworth; her brother, Edward Hollingsworth; her nephew, Joshua Hollingsworth; and her niece, Angi Hollingsworth.
Phyllis will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her warmth and caring spirit touched many lives, and her memory will be cherished always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Ware Place Church of God. Family and friends are invited to gather at 4:30 PM for visitation, with the service beginning at 5:00 PM.
