Raymond James Barr, Sr., a remarkable man whose life resonated with warmth and kindness, passed away on December 10, 2025, in Easley, South Carolina. Born on May 24 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, Raymond lived a life marked by dedication,, and a steadfast commitment to his family and community.
Raymond had a commendable career that spanned over five decades. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of loyal service, followed by 20 years at True Value Hardware. His work ethic and commitment to quality were evident in everything he did.
A gentle soul with a knack for handiwork, Raymond was an avid woodworker who took great pleasure in building things with his own hands. He often cherished quiet moments rocking on the front porch, sharing stories and enjoying the beauty of life. His love for old country music and working on cars filled his days with joy and nostalgia.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Johann Barr, and their loving daughters, Laura Frazier (Mark) and Kimberly Osborn (Christopher). Raymond also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Tammy Evans, and his cherished grandsons, Ryan and Brett Frazier, along with grandson Jack Violanti. He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Ian and Olivia Barr, and great-grandchildren Nolan Frazier, Taylor Frazier, and Zoey Frazier.
Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Barr, Jr., whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
