Robert Simon Hoffman: A Life Well-Lived.

Robert Simon Hoffman, or Bob, as he was warmly known by friends and family, completed his journey peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 88. Born on January 6, 1937, in New Hampton, Iowa, Bob possessed a rare blend of kindness, profound wisdom, and quiet selflessness that left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

He was the devoted and beloved husband of Dolores Hoffman, and together they built a life rich with laughter and enduring love. Bob was a dedicated father to his son, Michael Hoffman, and is reunited with his late son, Gregory Hoffman. He was predeceased by his brother, William Hoffman, Jr., and his parents, William and Wilma Hoffman. Bob's loving family includes his sister, Janice Pierce (Marvin), his cherished grandsons, Benjamin Hoffman (Christina), Samuel Hoffman (Mary Lauren), and Maxim Hoffman, and his granddaughters, Kayla Hoffman and Kelly Perfater (Ben). He took immense pride in his great-grandchildren: Sydney Perfater, Clark Perfater, Carolina Hoffman, and Mannix Hoffman.

Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Bob leveraged his entrepreneurial vision into a highly successful career as a Taco Bell franchise owner. His business savvy allowed him to nurture and grow his enterprise, eventually establishing a cherished family legacy when he passed the reins to his sons.

Bob’s personal world was filled with rich and varied interests. Reflecting his Iowa upbringing, he had a deep passion for collecting International Harvester Toy Farm Equipment. His love for history was evident in his meticulously kept coin collection, and his creative talents shone through his beautiful woodworking. Additionally, he kept an astute eye on the financial world, trading stocks and collecting precious metals, and enjoyed the occasional "profitable" game of video poker.

Bob Hoffman’s life was a testament to dedication and joy. He was the unshakable pillar of his family, a loyal and trusted friend, and a respected figure in his community. His memory will endure through the flourishing business he founded and, most importantly, through the generations of family he loved so dearly. He will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.
