Robert Lee Jackson

Robert Lee Jackson, known affectionately to family and friends as Bob, passed away on September 8, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina, the same city where he was born on May 2, 1940.

Bob lived a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he carried those roles with deep pride and unwavering care. Those closest to him will remember his kindness, his warm sense of humor, and the gentle way he made others feel welcome and valued. He was the kind of man whose presence brought comfort, and whose words and actions reflected a life guided by love and integrity.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Travis Jackson; his daughter, Lee Jackson Duncan; his sons, Bobby Jackson and his wife Ronda, and Travis Jackson; his grandchildren, Shane Duncan, Jamie Jackson Booth and her husband Richard, Forrest Jackson and his wife Emma, and Lee Earl Jackson III; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Booth, Wells Booth, Madeline Booth, and Millie Jackson; his brother in law David Cathey and sister in law Millie Ledwell Jackson. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Oreo, who was a cherished companion and a constant source of comfort and joy. Bob’s family was the center of his life, and he treasured every gathering, conversation, and shared memory with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Elaine Jackson; his sister, Ann Cathey; and his brother, Ray Jackson. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried forward the values of family, loyalty, and perseverance that were instilled in him from an early age.

Bob spent much of his professional life as a Systems Analyst at Flour Daniel, where he was respected for his intelligence, dependability, and thoughtful approach to his work. He brought diligence and professionalism to all that he did, and he earned the respect of colleagues through his steady manner and commitment to doing things well. His career reflected the same qualities that defined his personal life, including patience, responsibility, and a sincere desire to be helpful to others.

Outside of work, Bob found joy in simple pleasures that brought peace and companionship to his days. He especially enjoyed spending time with his dog Oreo, watching westerns, and enjoying episodes of The Golden Girls. These favorite pastimes reflected his appreciation for familiar comforts, good stories, and the lighter moments of life. He was content in the company of those he loved and in the routines that brought him happiness.

Bob will be remembered as a loving, kind, and generous man whose life was a blessing to many. He gave of himself freely and without hesitation, and he leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, compassion, and devotion to family. His life was not measured by grand display, but by the steady goodness he showed each day. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday September 15, 2026 from 12-2pm at Cremation Society of South Carolina- Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. Interment to follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
