Robert Dean
Phillips, Jr.
July 10, 1940 — August 31, 2026
Monday
Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery
Starts at 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Robert Dean Phillips, Jr. – a beloved husband, Brother, Uncle, and a cherished friend – who passed away on August 31, 2026 at the age of 86.
Robert was born on July 10, 1940 in Attica, Indiana, to the late Dorothy Vaughn Wilson and Robert Dean Phillips, Sr. His greatest joy in life was his wife, Sharon Kay Rogers, who passed away in 2025. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Robert was very honored to have been a member of the Air Force and to have fought for his country in Vietnam. He was also proud to be a police officer.
Outside of work, he was an avid cyclist. Cycling was his passion. He took part in road races, mountain races and everything in between. He ran circles around cyclists who were half his age and he has the medals to prove it.
He is survived by his sister Marlyn Weekly, and two nephews, Mark Weekly (Margie) and Sean Weekly (Becky). His humor, sarcasm, an infectious laugh will be missed by family and friends, and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, James Keith Weekly.
A celebration of life will be held at the Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson South Carolina, on Monday, September 14 beginning at 1 PM. Family and friends are invited together in remembrance of both Robert and his wife Sharon as they will be interred together.
