Roddy Allen Doughty, 74, of Greenville, South Carolina, entered the arms of his heavenly Father on July 1, 2026. His was a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to the people and passions he held closest to his heart. 

He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend. Roddy is survived by his loving bride of 43 years, Marybeth Doughty, who stood beside him through the many seasons of life with steadfast love and devotion. He also leaves behind his son, Barron Doughty, Barron’s wife, Cori, and his two beloved grandchildren, Abigail and Alton, who brought such great pride and joy to his life. He also remains in the hearts of his sisters, Diane McSlarrow and Barbara Houston, as well as Barbara's husband, Howard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Marilyn Doughty, whose memory remained close to his heart throughout his life. 

Roddy defined his professional life through hard work and dedication. He enjoyed a long career in engineering as an Electrical/Instrumentation Designer and later owned and operated his own stump grinding business, which highlighted his determination, independence, and willingness to take on challenges. In every role he undertook, Roddy approached his work with integrity and a commitment to excellence. 

Beyond his career, Roddy was known for the joy he brought to others through sharing his meaningful pursuits. He loved playing Santa, a role that reflected his warm spirit and delight in bringing happiness to children and families. He also enjoyed woodworking and cooking, where his hands and creativity would come together to craft cherished memories for those around him. Above all, Roddy’s life was centered on Jesus and his family, with his faith as the guiding force in all that he put his hands to. 

Those who knew Roddy will remember him as loving, faith-filled, and kind, touching the lives of many through his generosity, humor, and steady presence. He valued family deeply and understood the importance of showing up, working hard, and loving well. His life reflected the quiet strength of a man who cared deeply for others and who lived with conviction and grace. 

Roddy Allen Doughty will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all who were blessed to know him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the faith he held dear, and the many memories shared by those whose lives were enriched by his presence.
