Ronald Davies Rich

August 4, 1934 — February 29, 2024

Greenville South Carolina

Ronald Davies Rich, a dedicated employee of NOAA throughout his entire working career, has passed away. Born in Kingston, Pennsylvania, Ronald brought joy and laughter into the world on August 4th, 1934. He peacefully departed from us in Greenville, South Carolina.

Ron was not only known for his friendly disposition and quick wit, but also for his exceptional qualities as a family man and grandfather. Ron leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and loyalty.  He will be deeply missed by his son David Rich, daughter-in-law Brenda Rich, daughter Lianne Rich, and his beloved grandchildren Lauren Rich Blanton, Jay Rich, Ryan Rich, and Camryn Cummings.  Ron found the true love of his life when he met and married June.  They built and shared a long life together until 2021 when June passed away.

Ron was a proud veteran who served in the US Army.  Ron's dedication extended beyond his military service, as he found great joy in being a member of the 1986 and 1989 Mens International Barbershop Chorus Champions - Alexandria Harmonizers. His passion for music and harmony lasted over five decades, making this one of his proudest accomplishments.

Those who knew Ron remember him for his impeccable sense of humor and unwavering loyalty. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and jovial spirit.

As we bid farewell to Ronald Davies Rich, we celebrate a life well-lived. May his memory continue to bring warmth and happiness to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Rest in peace.
