Ronnie Arvel Thomas, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Laurens, South Carolina, at the age of 78. Born on March 24, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, Ronnie was a man of integrity, warmth, and intelligence, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Ronnie's early years in Greenville laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. He was the beloved son of the late Arvel and Alice Thomas, and from them, he learned the values of family and service. Ronnie carried these values throughout his life, touching many hearts along the way.

After serving his country with distinction in the United States Navy, Ronnie was honorably discharged as Corpsman Thomas. His commitment to excellence continued in his civilian life as he became a masterful custom cabinet maker at Satterfield Woodworks. His craftsmanship was not just a profession but a testament to his attention to detail and his desire to bring beauty into the homes of others.

Ronnie's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He was predeceased by his loving wife Gail Baer Thomas. Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his daughter, Ashley Thomas Baughman, and her husband, Dale; his grandsons, Dylan G. Turner and his wife Carrie, and Jesse Thomas Baughman and his wife Hawagilleh; and his devoted sister, Glinda Thomas Finley. Each of them will hold dear the lessons and love he imparted.

An avid fan of South Carolina Gamecock Football, Ronnie's enthusiasm for the game was infectious. He enjoyed the camaraderie and spirit of the sport, often sharing this passion with friends and family. His friendly nature made him a beloved figure at games and gatherings, where his laughter and stories would light up the room.

As we bid farewell to Ronnie Arvel Thomas, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, friendship, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and joy to his family and friends. Ronnie's journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit will remain with us, guiding and encouraging us in the days to come.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the caring Nursing and Hospice staff, they took amazing care of Ronnie during his tenure with them. He even landed the nickname "Salty Sailor" from the staff, before they ever knew he was a Navy veteran.
