Roy Haynes, born on August 5, 1956, in Greenville, South Carolina, passed away at home on September 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family and friends.

He was the beloved son of the late Alma and Elsey Haynes. Roy lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and a steady presence that brought comfort to those around him. He was known by all who loved him as a loving, friendly, and selfless man whose character reflected the best of what it means to care deeply for others.

Roy devoted much of his working life to plumbing, where he was respected for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic. He took pride in doing honest work and in helping others with the kind of quiet dedication that earned trust and admiration. Whether on the job or in everyday life, he approached each day with determination and a willingness to lend a hand.

Above all else, Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Haynes; his daughter, Jennifer Bilsack; his son, Paul Haynes, and his wife, Misty; and his sister, Margie Cox, and her husband, Maurice; and late siblings Randy Hayes, Debra Shelton, and Linda Lark.  He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Joseph Brisack II, Nathanel Haynes, Cameron Nalley, and Allen Haynes, each of whom brought him great joy and pride. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Roy found happiness in the simple and meaningful things in life. He enjoyed fishing and working, and he carried himself with a spirit that appreciated honest labor and peaceful moments alike. Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, his friendly nature, and the way he made others feel welcome and valued. He was the kind of man who could be counted on, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His life was a testament to love, loyalty, and perseverance. Roy gave generously of himself to his family and to those around him, and he leaves behind memories that will continue to comfort and inspire.
