He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca; Tosha; Josh Batton; Michael Bryant; James Kurt Bryant and his wife Lacey; Rebecca Ann Marie Shumway, his granddaughter; Donald Scholl, his grandson; Ryan Shumway, his grandson; Arianna Batton, his granddaughter; Kaydin Bryant and Anthony Bryant, his grandchildren; and a special grandson who was the light of his life, Ryder Alexander Poling, who was truly the center of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Lightle and Teresa, as well as his stepfather, the late Randall Short. Russell cherished his family deeply, and the love he gave them will remain a lasting part of their lives.

Russell spent many years working as a truck driver until 2018, a career that suited his strong work ethic and steady nature. He took pride in his work and found comfort in the familiar rhythm of the road. He especially loved the smell of diesel and tar, scents that were tied to the life he knew and the work he respected.
