Russell Lloyd Crumley, known to many simply as Russell, was born on December 12, 1970, in Greenville, South Carolina, and passed away at home on June 19, 2026. He lived a life marked by love, thoughtfulness, and generosity, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him.

Russell was a devoted husband to Rebecca Crumley, and together they shared a bond built on loyalty, companionship, and enduring love. He was a proud and caring father and stepfather, and his family was the center of his world. He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca; Tosha; Josh Batton; Michael Bryant; James Kurt Bryant and his wife Lacey; Rebecca Ann Marie Shumway, his granddaughter; Donald Scholl, his grandson; Ryan Shumway, his grandson; Arianna Batton, his granddaughter; Kaydin Bryant and Anthony Bryant, his grandchildren; and a special grandson who was the light of his life, Ryder Alexander Poling, who was truly the center of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Lightle and Teresa, as well as his stepfather, the late Randall Short. Russell cherished his family deeply, and the love he gave them will remain a lasting part of their lives.

Russell spent many years working as a truck driver until 2018, a career that suited his strong work ethic and steady nature. He took pride in his work and found comfort in the familiar rhythm of the road. He especially loved the smell of diesel and tar, scents that were tied to the life he knew and the work he respected. Those who knew Russell understood that he approached life with sincerity and quiet strength, and he carried himself with a kindness that made others feel valued.

Outside of work, Russell found joy in simple pleasures that reflected his easygoing spirit. He loved playing baseball on his PS4, enjoying the game and the fun of competition in his own way. He also adored his cats, Coco and Mocha, who brought him comfort and companionship. These interests were a reflection of the warmth and tenderness that defined him, and they brought him happiness in the everyday moments of life.

Russell will be remembered as a loving man who cared deeply for his family and friends. He was thoughtful in his words, generous in his actions, and steady in his devotion to those he loved. His presence brought comfort, his humor brought light, and his kindness left a meaningful impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his passing leaves a profound emptiness, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who loved him.

His life was a testament to the value of love, loyalty, and simple joys. Russell’s legacy is found in the family he cherished, the work he completed with pride, and the many moments of care and kindness he shared with others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
