November 24, 1949 – June 5, 2026
Ruth Ann Rozecki, (formerly known as Karen Couture) age 76 of Taylors, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on 6/5/26, after a long illness. A devoted and compassionate individual, Ruth dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working in the mental health field and serving as a caregiver in her final years. Her commitment to helping those in need reflected a deep well of kindness that touched everyone who knew her.
Ruth’s educational journey led her to the University of Maine at Augusta, where she pursued knowledge that undoubtedly enriched both her personal and professional life. Beyond her career, she found joy in a variety of interests; reading her Bible, an activity that provided spiritual sustenance and peace, her two cats and the birds she enjoyed watching. Music and photography were also passions that offered her moments of creativity and reflection, enriching her life and the lives of those around her.
She leaves behind cherished family members who carry forward her memory with love and respect. Her daughters, Stephanie Swan and her husband Max of Poland, Maine, and Susan Bourdon and her husband Michael of Vassalboro, Maine, continue to honor her legacy. Paul J. Couture, her son, resides in Taylors, South Carolina, and together, they nurture the cherished memories of Ruth, Her grandchildren—Christopher Bourdon, Kate Bourdon, and Jacob Couture. Also, Ruth’s sisters, Theresa Smith of Hallowell, Maine, Jeannette Gay of South China, Maine, and Lorraine Ladd of Augusta, Maine,
She is preceded in death by her parents, Germain A. LaCroix, who passed away on May 15, 2001, and Marguerite LaCroix, who passed away on May 24, 2013. Ruth also mourned the loss of her husbands: Paul J. Couture, who passed away on April 14, 2004, after 36 years of marriage, and Joseph T. Rozecki, who passed away on November 17, 2012. Her brother, Armand LaCroix, who passed away on March 14, 2018.
Ruth Ann Rozecki’s life was a testament to dedication, love, and kindness. Her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege to know her, and her legacy of compassion and warmth will continue to inspire those she touched.
