Sarah Jane Oliver

July 1, 1957 — January 16, 2024

Sarah Jane Oliver, affectionately known as Jane to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024, at her home in Landrum, SC. Born on July 1, 1957, in Spartanburg, SC, Jane was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, creativity, and the simple pleasures that make life beautiful.

Jane was the cherished daughter of the late Grady Williams, Jr. and Mary Ruth Ferrell and paternal grandparents Grady and Myrtle Williams. She grew up surrounded by love and laughter, a bond that she shared with her siblings Buck Williams, Karen Dempsey (Demp), and the late Teresa Williams. Jane's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took immense pride in her role as a mother to her beloved children, Alex Morris and Justin Morris.

Her spirit will live on through her adoring nieces Dominique, Lakeesha (Buddy), Heather, and Amber (Tylor), as well as her treasured great-nieces Hailee, Elizabeth, and Nevaeh, and great-nephews Noah, Nicholas, Brayden, and Owen. Jane was also a proud granddaughter of the late Malcolm and Eula Williams and held a special place in her heart for her Uncle Clyde and Aunt Doris, her cousins, and her many friends who became like family over the years. Her love extended to her faithful canine companions, Spud and Wiener, who were her constant shadows and brought her immeasurable joy.

Jane dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a caregiver, a role that suited her nurturing and compassionate nature. She was a woman of many talents and interests, with a particular passion for riding horses and a love for all animals. Jane's creative spirit shone through in her hobbies, which included making walking sticks, whittling, and playing the spoons. Her hands were rarely still, and she found peace and fulfillment in the act of creating.

Described by those who knew her as creative, handy, and kind, Jane's legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and a knack for making the ordinary extraordinary. She had a gift for finding beauty in simplicity and shared that gift freely with the world around her.

Jane's life was a journey of joy, creativity, and love. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter a melody, and her craftsmanship a treasure. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

As we say goodbye to Sarah Jane Oliver, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless lives she touched. Her spirit, like the walking sticks she lovingly crafted, will continue to guide and support us in the days to come. Jane's story does not end here; it lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the beautiful memories she left behind.
