Scott Robert Schmitke

Scott Robert Schmitke passed away on June 7, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 58. He was born on June 26, 1966, in Buffalo, NY.

Scott was the son of Robert and Sandra Schmitke and brother to Randy (Kristen) Schmitke, and Roberta (Scott) Ruth. He was an uncle to Oliva (William) Pyle, Emma and Isaac Schmitke, Isabel (Michael) Mauldin, Bailey, Alexis, and Sophia Ruth. He also had two great-nephews, Rhett and Hudson Mauldin. Scott is survived by an extended family that will miss him greatly.

For 28 years, Scott was the proud owner and operator of his own lawn care company. Scott was known for his smile and kind-heartedness, always the first to aid anyone in need, whether it was a friend, a neighbor, or a stranger. Scott enjoyed spending time at the ocean and water, and hoped to retire at the beach one day.

We celebrate the life of Scott Robert Schmitke and mourn his passing, but his belief in Jesus Christ gives us solace to see him again one day in heaven.
