Shelby Jean H. Howard, age 76, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on May 08, 1949, in Yadkinville, NC, she was known throughout her life for her beauty, intelligence, and determination-qualities that shaped every relationship she touched.

A devoted sister, mother, wife, friend, and professional, she approached life with dignity, compassion, and faith. Her sharp mind, warm spirit, and unwavering kindness left a lasting, indelible impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by Lawrence E. Howard, husband; Wm. Alan Waggoner, son; Neil A. Waggoner, son; Nicholas A. Waggoner, grandson; Eden R. Waggoner, granddaughter; Hudson C. Waggoner, great-grandson.

Every day, we will celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Deep Creek Friends Meeting, 1140 Deep Creek Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055; in her honor.
