Steven Lamar Rodgers, known affectionately as Steve to his friends and family, passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 71, in his hometown of Greenville, SC, where he was also born on December 15, 1952.

Steve was a man of intelligence who lived life with a sense of adventure and humor. An avid fisherman, Steve found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His love for fishing was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Steve's intelligence shone through in his knack for solving problems, and ability to fix what was broken. His interesting life stories and experiences were a reflection of his quick wit and sense of adventure. Steve is survived by a loving family who will cherish fond memories of the times spent together. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Rodgers Johnson, and his son, James Harold Rodgers, and his sister, Jodi Rodgers Penosky. He was preceded in death by his father, James “Sprig” Rodgers, his mother, Jewel Rodgers, his brothers, Bryan, Tony, and Rick Rodgers, and his sister, Terri Rodgers. Each held a special place in his heart.
