Susan Szymanski

Susan "Susie" Szymanski, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully at her home on June 20, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 8, 1940, in the Bronx, NY, Susie was a woman whose laughter and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Susie's early years in New York were filled with the bustling energy of city life, but she found her true calling when she moved to California and dedicated her life to caring for others as a nursing assistant. Her compassion and warmth made her a favorite among her colleagues and the many lives she touched through her work. Susie's commitment to her profession was matched only by her involvement in various associations, where she contributed her time and talents to better the community around her.

Beyond her professional life, Susie was an avid creator. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in crocheting, sewing, and cooking—each stitch and recipe a testament to her love for her family. Her home was a welcoming haven where the aroma of her delicious meals would greet you at the door, and her handmade creations added a touch of warmth to every room.

Susie's legacy is carried on by her loving daughter, Lisa Clary, and her son-in-law, Mike Clary. Her spirit will forever be reflected in the eyes of her grandsons, Devon Szymanski and Anthony Clary, and her great-granddaughter, Shelby Szymanski, who will grow up hearing tales of her great-grandmother's love and laughter. Susie was predeceased by her son, Paul Szymanski; her husband, Bob Szymanski; her mother, Ruth Meuli; her father, Patrick Meuli; her aunt, Barbara Meuli; and her sister, Patricia Joseph. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her every day.

Those who knew Susie would describe her as loving, kind, and funny—a woman whose humor could light up the darkest room and whose generosity knew no bounds. Her presence was a gift, and though she has left this world, the echoes of her laughter and the warmth of her care will remain.
