Susie Jane Nelson

Susie Jane Nelson, a beacon of kindness and joy, passed away on October 11, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 76. Born on January 31, 1949, in Greenwood, SC, Susie was a woman whose life was as vibrant and nurturing as the community she loved.

Susie, known for her unwavering faith and dedication to her church, was a devout member of New Life Baptist Church. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, always embodying the love and grace she found in her beliefs.

Her outgoing nature and love of fun made her a joy to be around. Susie's laughter was infectious, and her presence could light up any room. She was a beautiful lady, not just in appearance but in spirit, touching the lives of all who knew her with her thoughtfulness and kindness. Her interests were as varied as they were engaging. Susie had a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. Whether she was spending time with her family, participating in church activities, or simply enjoying the company of friends, she brought an interesting and thoughtful perspective to every interaction.

Family was the cornerstone of Susie's life. She was a loving mother to her three children Elizabeth Nelson (Amanda), Christopher Browning, and Shane Nelson (Joyce). Her grandchildren, Danielle Plumley, Amber Nelson, Evan Browning, Colton Nelson, and Charlotte Nelson, brought her immeasurable joy and were the recipients of her endless love and wisdom.

Susie was the cherished sister of Christine Childers, James "Jimmy" Hall, and Marilyn Steins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Sadie Hall, and her siblings, Mary Hall, Rena Johnson, Debra Barnes, Lucille Johnson, Pearlene Jones, Jackie Hall, Cecil Jones, Lawrence Hall, and Roy Hall. Each family member held a special place in her heart, and she nurtured her relationships with them through every season of life.

Susie's legacy is one of love, faith, and community. She was a woman who lived her life with purpose and joy, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye to Susie Jane Nelson, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that will forever be remembered for its warmth and generosity. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.

A memorial service has been scheduled for Friday October 17, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM. The service will be held in the chapel at Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, located at 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville SC, 29611
