Terry L Jones

d. January 1, 2001

Terry L Jones passed away Saturday, October 25th at his home, surrounded by his family.  Terry battled multiple myeloma for three years with humor and resolve.

Born in Taft, CA on December 28, 1953, Terry was the son of the late Neta and R.C. Jones.  He moved to Bakersfield in 1964, graduated from Taft High School in 1973 and then from Cal State Hayward in 1988.  He retired from Flo-tite/Max-Seal this past summer and was very proud of his long career in industrial sales.

Terry is survived by his wife, Nicki Davidson Jones of Greer, his son Bennett of Charleston, his daughter Mackenzie of Greensboro, his brother David Jones of Greer, his brother and sister-in-law Mack and Suzanne Jones of Cheyenne, W.Y., his mother-in-law Irene Davidson and sister-in-law Debbie Davidson, both of Mt. Pleasant, his sister-in-law Merrie Davidson of Minneapolis, as well as many wonderful friends and extended family. Terry made new friends wherever he went.

Terry loved music, baseball, the mountains, old cars, and most of all, his family.  Growing up in California, he spent his time hiking, backpacking, and exploring the mountains of the West.  He learned to love the mountains of the East when he and his family relocated to the Greenville, S.C. area in 1995.

Terry first picked up a guitar at age 10 and was leading his own band at dances by the time he was 14.  He continued to play and teach guitar throughout his life. A life-long Dodger fan, Terry grew up playing baseball and later coached Greenville Little League and the old Wade Hampton Cherokees.

No memorial services are planned.  Terry's remains will be spread in the mountains and the glaciers he loved.  His legacy lives on through his children, who he adored.  Memorials may be made to public radio station WNCW or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to www.crematio-sc.com
