Tony Townsend

Tony Townsend, a man known for his faith-filled spirit, wise counsel, and infectious humor, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on December 20, 1969, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, Tony was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. He departed this life in Greenville, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Tony was the cherished son of the late Arthur Townsend Jr. and Ethel Mae Davis. He was a beloved father to his devoted son, Anthony Hunt, who is engaged to Kayla Richey. Tony's memory will be treasured by his brother, James Townsend, and his sister, Tasha Townsend. His playful spirit will be fondly remembered by his adoring grandchildren, Jaden and Jersey Hunt. Tony was also a dear nephew to his aunts, Annie Harley of Greenville, Sally Mae Frazier of Clio, and Helen Douglas of Bennettsville, all of whom survive him.

Tony's passion for sports was undeniable. He was an ardent fan of the Carolina Panthers, and his love for football and baseball was evident to anyone who spent time with him during the season. Game days were always a special occasion for Tony, filled with excitement and friendly banter.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Tony would describe him as a man of great faith. His belief in the goodness of life and the importance of family guided him through his journey. Tony's wisdom was a gift he generously shared, offering guidance and support to friends and family alike.

Tony Townsend's life was a testament to the joy that can be found in the simple pleasures: a game on the television, a joke shared among friends, and the love of a close-knit family. As we say goodbye to Tony, we celebrate the happiness he brought into our lives and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to our faces.

A funeral service has been scheduled for Friday October 10, 2025, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by the service at 3:00 PM. The service will be held in the chapel at Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, located at 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville SC, 29611.
