Tracy Scott Young

Tracy Scott Young, affectionately known as Scott to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 59 in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on July 24, 1966, in Marietta, South Carolina, Scott was a man whose warmth and humor brought joy to all who knew him.

Scott was a proud graduate of Travelers Rest High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships. His professional life was marked by dedication and hard work, first as a machine operator at Krieger Corp, later as a skilled carpet installer.

Beyond his professional life, Scott was a man of many passions. He was an avid softball player, participating in both county and church leagues, where his sportsmanship and camaraderie were always on full display. Scott's love for stock car racing was more than just a hobby; it was a testament to his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for the thrill of the race. He also found solace in fishing, a pastime that allowed him to enjoy the serenity of nature and the simple pleasures of life.

A lover of western movies, Scott could often be found quoting lines from his favorite films, much to the amusement of his family and friends. His sense of humor was infectious, and his ability to light up a room with laughter will be deeply missed.

Scott's loving nature extended to his family, who were the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Jerrika Lynn Young( Fred Bo Bishop), and his adored grandchildren, Brody, Branson, and Brylie Bishop. Scott's memory will also be treasured by his brother, Jeffery Young and his wife Tonnie, as well as his doting nephews, Timothy, Christopher, Jeremy, Justin, and Jordan Young. His aunts Wanda Gordon, and Deborah Lee will fondly remember their nephew's kindness and warmth.

Scott was predeceased by his beloved wife, Amy Greer Young, whose memory he held close to his heart. He was also preceded in death by his father, Roy Young, his mother, Shelby Jean Brown Young Pace, his brothers Gregory Young, and Mitchell Young, and his aunts and uncles, Dora Lou Brookshire, Billy Brookshire, Allie Fulton, Fred Fulton, John Gordon, Carl Lee, Quay Young.

As we say goodbye to Tracy Scott Young, we will carry his memory with us, and he will be remembered with love, may he now rest in peace. 

A memorial service to honor the life of Tracy Young has been scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The service will be held at Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church, located at 1401 Geer HWY, Travelers Rest, SC 29690
